projects

sometimes eftb just writes and plays music.
sometimes she puts some more thoughts into it and dives into slightly more conceptual projects. here are a bunch of them.

Current: Postcards

In the last few years I have travelled more than ever before in my life. Physically, in terms of seeing foreign countries, walking through wastelands, kissing new friends goodbye in distant airports, as well as mentally, gathering new experiences and insights.. And sometimes I managed to record those journeys, let some of those moments curdle into sound and song. Those acoustic artefacts of different points in time and space now lie on my desk like postcards that I bought and lettered yet never sent.

2011 - Berlin kitchen sessions

before moving to berlin myself in summer 2011 I was always being hosted by several friends who live here.

as an homage to them i decided to record an album of unplugged songs in their apartments, one song in each of their kitchens, capturing not only the song itself but also the acoustic particularities of the room, the resonating space around it and thereby traces of my temporary homes.

2010 - Audio Travel Logs

at some point she decided that taking photos is not what she wants to do in order to capture a journey, and so she began to record sounds instead of images whenever she would go abroad. The results, a growing library of travel diary excerpts with little recordings can be found in her audio travel log.

The Smallest Bones
in a harsh february 2010 i temporarily stopped being eftb and started being the smallest bones launching an instrumental ambient post-something sideproject armed with only my guitar, a filtered voice and a bunch of field recordings from a cold cold berlin winter..

2009 - Recording the Forest

in summer 2009 i went into the forest with my guitar and my zoom h2 recording device to record an album called 'raw timber'.

the basic idea was to bring my guitar, an item made from wood that also used to be a living thing, a tree, back in the days, back into the woods and play amongst her brothers, choosing this most appropriate environment to breathe new life into the dead material.
the money raised with the sale of 50 handcrafted cds was donated for a rainforest project.
